Panama continues to gain recognition at the highest levels of world sport thanks to the talent, preparation, and commitment of its representatives. Delgado's appointment was unanimously approved by the World Aquatics Board of Directors, the world's largest international sports federation that governs and promotes aquatic sports globally. This also reaffirms Delgado's commitment to continue promoting the development of sport, in coordination with and in support of the vision of the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino. Ana Irene Delgado has a distinguished diplomatic and sports career. She currently serves as Panama's Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Vice President of the Pan American Fencing Confederation, Vice President of the Modern Pentathlon Union, and President of the Panamanian Modern Pentathlon Federation. This important appointment is a great source of pride for Panama, positioning the country in a strategic leadership space within international sport. It includes Swimming, water polo, diving, open water swimming, and artistic swimming. The Panamanian Ana Irene Delgado was appointed as Advisor to the President of the International Federation of Aquatic Sports (World Aquatics), an appointment made on January 24 in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Additionally, she is an Ambassador for FIE for the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
