Panama won its first gold medal at the Bolivarian Games as wrestler Ángel Cortéz claimed victory in his weight category. The national shooting team also secured a bronze medal.

Panama won its first gold medal at the Ayacucho - Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games, after Olympic wrestler Ángel Cortéz took first place in the 86-kilogram freestyle category. Cortéz secured the gold medal in his category by winning both of his bouts. In his debut, Cortéz defeated the Venezuelan Pedro Ceballos 7-5 and then the Peruvian Jesús Landa 6-0. During yesterday's session of the Bolivarian Games, the national team, consisting of Patricia González and Eduardo Taylor, claimed the bronze medal in Shooting, in the shotgun mixed Skeet event of the XX Ayacucho-Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games. In the Classification, they finished third, hitting 76 out of 150 targets, thus contesting the bronze against Madeleine Velasco and César Menacho of Bolivia. In the bronze medal match, they defeated the Bolivian pair 22-14 to secure Panama's fifth bronze medal at these Games.
