The Chiriquí pilot David Carballeda, two-time champion of the GT Challenge of the Americas, leaves nothing to chance and therefore made sure his mechanical team traveled to Costa Rica a week in advance. Carballeda's Mitsubishi Evo is already installed at the Costa Rican racetrack, under the supervision of a technical team led by mechanic Antonio Roquer. Carballeda wants to go out with a bang to close his successful 2025 season within the GT Challenge of the Americas and reaffirm his status as a regional monarch in the GTS Light Jr. category at the Three Hours of Costa Rica. The emblematic Costa Rican event will take place next December 7th at the StarCars.com circuit in Parque Viva, in La Guácima de Alajuela. "It's going to be an interesting race and we want to have the car ready in advance to do all the necessary tests," expressed Carballeda, aware that every improvement in the garage will be key to performance on the Costa Rican track. "We hope to regain speed and rhythm in Costa Rica. Our intention is for the Evo not only to be fast, but also reliable, so that David can end the year on a high note." The article "The Evo VI already roars in Costa Rica: Carballeda aims for a perfect season finale" was first published in La Verdad Panamá. The vehicle will feature a practically new front suspension, in addition to a 0.62 turbo A/R, which will allow for a faster exit from corners and a more solid braking on the entries, something that was not possible in El Salvador," indicated Carballeda. At the wheel of his legendary EVO VI, Carballeda secured the Central American and Caribbean two-time championship in the GTS Light Jr. category, during the first two dates of the GT Challenge. Roquer speaks... Upon his arrival in the capital, San José, Roquer detailed the mechanical work he will carry out on the Evo to ensure that Carballeda can close the year with a "high note." "We traveled in advance to be able to work on the points we could appreciate in our first contact with the vehicle, which was at the event at the El Jabalí racetrack," said Roquer. "Unfortunately, at that event, the wheel bearing left us out. All new wheel bearings will be installed and some mechanical points that we could see could be improved will be reinforced," he added. "We prefer to travel with time and do everything well."
