Panama Wins Gold in Athletics at Bolivarian Games

Athlete Chamar Chambers brought Panama a gold medal in the 800 meters at the XX Bolivarian Games. This is the country's seventh gold medal at the competition in Peru.


Panama claimed its gold medal in athletics thanks to Chamar Chambers, who reached the top of the podium in the 800-meter flat race at the XX Bolivarian Games in Ayacucho - Lima 2025. The silver medal went to José Maita of Venezuela with a time of 1:47.45 minutes, while the Chilean Rafael Muñoz took third place with a time of 1:47.56 minutes. Earlier, Panama won its first gold medal in wrestling through Ángel Cortés. The gold medal obtained by Chambers is Panama's seventh at these Bolivarian Games, which are being held in Peru. In gymnastics, Panama also won a gold medal in the team competition, with Karla Navas winning in the women's vault and Alyiah Lide becoming the individual all-around champion, making three golds in the discipline. Panama's fifth gold medal came in surfing with athlete Verónica Correa in the bodyboard event. Yesterday, Chambers secured the gold in the 800-meter flat race, becoming Panama's seventh gold medalist at the Games. In this way, Chambers ends the year 2025 in great shape; at the recent Central American Games held in Guatemala, the Panamanian won gold in the 800-meter flat race, breaking his own record with a time of 1:48.41 minutes. Chambers was the fastest in the 800-meter final, stopping the clock at 1:46.95 minutes. Judo also contributed with the sixth gold medal, thanks to Némesis Candelo.
