Panama's football highlights a successful year, marked by the historic qualification of the senior national team for the second FIFA World Cup, as the only Central American nation to do so. Additionally, in 2025, Panamanian teams competed in three World Championships: the Men's U-20 team in Chile, the Men's U-17 team in Qatar, and the Women's Futsal team in the Philippines.
In January 2026, the Panama Men's National Team will play a series of friendly matches in Bermuda.

The Panama Women's U-17 Team will begin their qualifying journey for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. In the first round, the team is placed in Group B, where they will face Dominica, Guadeloupe, Anguilla, and Nicaragua.

By finishing first in their group or as one of the best second-place teams, the Panama U-17 Women's Team will advance to the CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championship.
The U-17 Women's Team will also travel to Bermuda, where they will compete in Group B against the U-17 women's national teams of Bonaire, St. Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, and the host nation, Bermuda.
The Panama Men's National Team, composed of players from the Panamanian Football League (LPF), will play two friendly matches outside of FIFA international match windows.
