The Boxing Coaches Affiliation of Panama (AFEBOX) is launching an initiative to economically reward Panamanian sports coaches. Gerardo Murillo, president of AFEBOX, explained that the objective of this bill is to provide economic recognition to coaches whose athletes achieve a world title in their respective specialties. "The idea is that the coach receives financial support that can be at least similar to the cost of the basic family basket," Murillo stated. "We are carrying out this initiative through deputy Orlando Carrasquilla, who is a promoter and lover of sports," Murillo added. Murillo also mentioned that, accompanied by deputy Carrasquilla, he held a meeting with the director of Pandeportes, Miguel Ordóñez, and the institution's technical director, Jaime Penedo. During the meeting, several topics related to sports coaches, especially boxing coaches, were discussed. "In addition to the proposal for an economic incentive for coaches, the regularization of all boxing coaches at the national level was also addressed. They will have to be certified and affiliated with AFEBOX," the leader stated, wishing all national coaches a Happy New Year 2026.
