A press release from the Panamanian Baseball Federation (Fedebeis) reported that Gómez won this distinction after the votes from the sports press, the fans who voted on social networks, and the Fedebeis Board of Directors were tallied. Gómez had a record of 6 wins and 0 losses, with a low earned run average and leading Coclé to the Regular Round. In the voting, Gómez received 36.92%, followed by Cristian González (32.22%) and Joshua Martínez (11.57%).
