The Panama Baseball Team resumed its preparations yesterday for the tournament at the Rod Carew Stadium. The team is preparing for the World Baseball Classic, where Panama will play its group stage in Puerto Rico. Prior to yesterday's practice, head coach José Mayorga announced several positive news, notably confirming the participation of the Chicago Cubs' catcher, Miguel Amaya, in the World Baseball Classic. "We have had good reports from his training camp. He is in good physical condition, so he will be with us," Mayorga highlighted. Amaya was on the roster for the World Baseball Classic, but considering he came off several injuries last year, there was uncertainty whether the Santenño player would finally be able to wear the Panama jersey, which will now happen. Mayorga also confirmed yesterday the addition of players Dario Agrazal Jr., Kenny Hernández, and Allen Córdoba, who recently committed to the Caribbean Series and the Americas Series. Mayorga announced that today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, Thursday, they will continue to work with the batters and pitchers, while on Thursday and Friday they will have their first exhibition games against the senior pre-selections of Panama Metro and Panama West.
