Panama Baseball Team Departs for US Tour

The Panama national baseball team, which will participate in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, begins its international tour on March 1st. On this day, the exodus of players, coaching staff, and delegation members will begin, heading initially to Tampa, Florida, where the team will play two exhibition games against the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers. The team will travel on different flights and will be based at the Flor Hotel in Tampa, which will serve as their Panamanian fortress for the preparation games. On March 1st, from approximately 4:05 p.m. to 4:50 p.m., there will be a change of travel clothes, followed by departure to Tampa International Airport. At 6:00 p.m., a charter flight will depart for San Juan, Puerto Rico, to stay at the Sheraton & Casino hotel in the Puerto Rican capital. For March 2nd, the team is scheduled to depart at 9:15 a.m. for George M. Steinbrenner Field. A meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m., and the uniforms will be tried on at 9:30 a.m. From 9:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., there will be a photoshoot, uniform fitting, and a lunch break from 11:50 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The training session on March 2nd will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a post-workout snack from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. From 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., the team will be transported from George Steinbrenner Field to the Flor Hotel. On March 5th at 2:30 p.m., the team will leave the hotel in San Juan for Hiram Bithorn Stadium, the home of Group A. The team will train from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at 4:30 p.m., the bus will depart back to the hotel. On March 3rd, the day will begin with a bus departure from the Flor Hotel to George Steinbrenner Field from 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., followed by a change of clothes from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The team will have space for its pre-game warm-up and everything will be ready for the "play ball" call at 1:05 p.m. The team is scheduled to leave George Steinbrenner Field from approximately 4:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and head to the Flor Hotel. March 4th will be a longer day, starting at 7:30 a.m. with hotel departure and arrival at Public Field at Joker Marchant Stadium. From 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., there will be a uniform change, batting practice (Pre BP), and everything will be ready for the game at 1:05 p.m. against the Detroit Tigers.
