The 83rd Panamanian Baseball Championship began on Sunday. The first round features several matches across different cities. Teams are divided into two groups, playing 16 games in the regular season. The top eight teams will advance to the playoffs.

On Sunday, February 24, the 83rd Panamanian Baseball Championship will begin. As part of the first round, several matches will be held. At 2:00 p.m., Veraguas and Panamá Este will face off at the Rod Carew Stadium. At 7:00 p.m., Bocas and Metro will play on the same field. Other matches scheduled for the day include: Occidente vs. Darién in Metetí, Los Santos vs. Coclé at the Remón Cantera Stadium, and Herrera vs. Panamá Oeste at the Mariano Rivera Stadium. The Panamanian Major Baseball League championship will run until March 31. In the first phase, Sunday games will start at 6:00 p.m. In the regular season, the teams are divided into two groups. Group A consists of Coclé, Darién, Panamá Metro, Colón, Panamá Oeste, and Panamá Este. Group B includes Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro, Herrera, Los Santos, Veraguas, and Chiriquí Occidente. Each team will play against teams in their own group twice, and against teams from the other group once (for a total of 16 games). For advancement to the next phase, the top eight teams with the best records will advance, regardless of their group. The teams from Chiriquí and Colón will kick off the 83rd Panamanian Baseball Championship. The game will be held at the remodeled Estadio Roberto Mariano Bula, which is ready for play. The official opening ceremony and the opening match are scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. Earlier that day, five other games will begin.
