Panama tied 2-1 with the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday in their second and final exhibition game before the World Baseball Classic. The match took place at Publix Field at Marchand Stadium in the city of Lakeland, Florida. A press release from the Panamanian Baseball Federation (Fedebeis) detailed that the Detroit Tigers scored a run in the bottom of the second and another in the bottom of the third, while Panama scored its only run in the top of the fourth. The Panama team managed 7 hits and played error-free, while the Detroit Tigers also had three hits and no errors in the game. For Panama, the best offensive players were Allen Cordoba with 4-3, Johan Camargo with 2-2 with an RBI, Edmundo Sosa with 4-1, and Leonardo Bernal with 2-1. The win went to Jack Flaherty, who pitched 3.0 complete innings, and the loss to right-hander Abdiel Mendoza. The Panama team was scheduled to travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Wednesday afternoon at around 6:00 p.m., arriving at around 9:00 p.m. On Thursday, the national team will train at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan at 12:30 p.m.
