Arsenal opened a seven-point gap over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League after scraping a 1-0 victory at Brighton, while their title rivals drew 2-2 at home with troubled Nottingham Forest.
City was close to winning it at the eighth minute of added time, when substitute Savinho's shot was cleared off the line.
Bukayo Saka's goal in the ninth minute was enough for Arsenal, who have played one more game than City.
