Panamanian boxers succeeded at the qualifying tournament in Mexico and earned spots for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. Three of them also won bronze medals.


Five Panamanian Boxers Qualify for Central American and Caribbean Games

A total of five Panamanian boxers have qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games, which will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from July 24 to August 8. The Panamanian athletes qualified for this sporting event, which is part of the Olympic cycle, at the qualifying tournament held in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Isthmian boxers who secured their spot for 'Santo Domingo 2026' are Yulieth Hinestroza (51 kilograms), Kiria Cortés (70 kilos), Cristofer Filos (65 kilos), Armando Flores (55 kilos), and Eduardo Beckford (70 kilos). It is worth noting that Hinestroza, Cortés, and Filos, in addition to qualifying for the Central American and Caribbean Games, also won bronze medals in the qualifying competition. The Panamanian team was selected by the Panama Olympic Boxing Federation (Fedebop), which will now have its international participation in the South American Youth Games, to be held in Panama.
