Panama's judo team scored important points for qualification to the Central American and Caribbean Games, which will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from July 24 to August 8. In the Central American and Caribbean Judo Cup, the Panamanians won five medals, four of which were gold and one silver. The gold medals were won by athletes Némesis Candelo (48 kg), Kristine Jiménez (-57 kg), Ronal González (-73 kg) and Alexis Harrison (-81 kg). The silver medal was won by Bernabé Vergara (-60 kg). The next qualifying tournaments will be the Central American Cup in Guatemala this Saturday, March 28, followed by the Senior Pan American Championship on April 18 in Panama.
