This week, matchday 11 of the 2026 Clausura Tournament of the Panamanian Football League concluded. The inter-conference phase also came to an end. Over these six weeks, the teams of the Eastern Conference dominated clearly, especially in the last four rounds. During that stretch, Eastern teams combined for 62 points, while Western teams managed only 29, a difference that is directly reflected in the Power Rankings. The dominance of the East sets the course for the tournament and redefines the competitive map. As in any sport and any ranking, there are big winners and big losers. The leader of the West, Unión Coclé, continues to be the tournament's big revelation. However, their powerful campaign in La Chorrera has been dismal so far, but they have a great opportunity to turn things around when they face their conference rivals again. Alianza FC is on a six-match unbeaten streak, all against Western teams. Their victory over Atlético Independiente places them above all Western teams. Additionally, they have three consecutive wins and are firmly in the fight for playoff spots. Plaza Amador is once again in its best form. After a difficult start, they are on an eight-match unbeaten run, with six wins and two draws. Their triumph over CAI places them above all Western teams. Tauro FC has been growing without making much noise, building an increasingly solid campaign. With 17 points, they are one point away from the playoffs and three from the lead. Árabe Unido is the biggest climber of the week. Despite their 2-0 loss to Árabe Unido, they are still a better team than those below them. What separates them from Sporting San Miguelito, which has the same number of points but in the East, is that, looking at the quality of opponents for each in the final stretch, they have better chances of advancing. San Francisco FC moved up two positions for two simple reasons: they were the only team in the Western Conference to win this weekend, and they also won the direct duel with Sporting San Miguelito. It would be impossible in good faith to place Sporting above the Monjes when they were the ones who won the direct confrontation. Atlético Independiente is one of the few teams that had no movement this week. This has allowed them to reach the top with 14 of the last 18 points. The challenge now will be to sustain that level against Eastern teams. The fall of Veraguas United in this ranking, like that of the other Western teams, is based on the poor collective performance against their Eastern rivals. They accumulated eight points in those clashes, the same as Unión Coclé. The biggest fall in this week's power ranking is led by Sporting San Miguelito. Despite being above Herrera in the table, having obtained only one point out of 18 against their Western rivals, scoring only four goals in six matches, is enough reason to be at the bottom of the table. If they had managed the seven points they got in the first five rounds against their Western rivals, they would be in a good position to qualify for the playoffs. There is a new bottom team in this week's power rankings, and it is Club Deportivo Universitario. Herrera FC is near the bottom of the LPF power rankings for the second consecutive week. Despite having 14 points, they have won only one of their last six matches and have two consecutive losses. Additionally, they are last in the Eastern Conference. This weekend, they will face Plaza Amador in the National Classic, a match that could define their season. In their case, this is not just a reflection of their current form (they lost 2-1 to Alianza on Sunday), but also of their season as a whole. In the next five rounds, against wounded teams from their conference, they could pick up important points for their permanence. Veraguas remains in a semifinal position, and everything indicates that they will stay there. However, the way of losing weighs: the thrashing suffered against Umecit had a greater impact than the minimal loss of Unión Coclé to Plaza Amador. Umecit FC is also going through a great moment. After losing in February, they have accumulated five matches without a defeat, summing 11 of the last 15 points. If they maintain this level, they are a serious candidate to advance. CD Universitario is another team going through tough times. Despite having 8 points, they have lost four of their last five matches. They will have to do better than in the first round, however, where they only managed two draws. San Francisco FC - West, 10 points. Despite the narrow loss to Plaza Amador, their competitive performance is not enough to surpass the Eastern teams that have more points. CD Universitario - West, 8 points. Herrera FC - West, 7 points. CD Universitario - West, 8 points. Veraguas United - West, 15 points. Alianza FC - East, 20 points. Plaza Amador - East, 20 points. Tauro FC - East, 17 points. Árabe Unido - East, 16 points. Umecit FC - East, 18 points. San Francisco FC - West, 10 points. Atlético Independiente - East, 14 points. Unión Coclé - West, 15 points. Sporting San Miguelito - East, 14 points. Veraguas United - West, 15 points. CD Universitario - West, 8 points. Herrera FC - West, 7 points.
LPF Power Rankings: East's Dominance Sets Tournament Course
