The fourth batter, Anmi Ortega, connected with another hit—also to the right—that drove in the run scored by Velásquez, extending the lead to 2-0. The Colonenses sealed the deal and the series with a four-run rally in the top of the sixth inning. Jorge Bishop and Jason Patterson started the attack with a single each, placing runners on the corners. An error after a ground ball to shortstop by Velásquez brought the third run home and left runners on first and second. The outfielder hit a double to the right that cleared the bases, driving in three runs and putting the game out of Herrera's reach. The rest of the game went without a hitch, thanks to the solid work of pitchers Julio Denis and Carlos Rodríguez. In the next inning, in the top of the third, the Colonenses managed to open the scoreboard. With two outs on the board, Jhadiel Santamaría hit a home run to left field to score his team's first run. The second run came in the top of the fifth inning, as a result of a solid collective offensive effort. Then, Omar Ortega hit a ground ball to second base that retired Velásquez trying to advance, but kept runners on the corners. Amir Ortega received a walk, and with the bases loaded, the defining moment of the game arrived, again with Santamaría as the protagonist. With the win, Colón reached its fifth consecutive semifinal and is one step away from playing its third final in four years. The Colón offense signaled early, connecting with two singles in the top of the second inning, but without managing to score a run. With one out, Kevin Velásquez started the action with a single to left field, followed by another to the right by Omar Ortega. Denis worked five full innings, allowed five hits, and struck out three without conceding walks. Rodríguez pitched four perfect innings, allowing no hits or walks, and retired nine opposing batters via the strikeout. Offensively, Santamaría led the attack by batting 2-4, with a home run, a double, and four runs batted in. Everything will be decided tonight.
