The Colombian company Aseo Capital, S.A. has obtained the administrative concession for the provision of waste collection, transportation, and final disposal services in the district of Chame, in the province of Panamá Oeste. This would be the third district in this province where Aseo Capital gains control of the cleaning service for a period of 20 years. In February 2025, the municipal council had authorized the mayor, Francisco León Fu, to select a company through a value-based bidding process. It is worth remembering that this Colombian capital company already provides services in the districts of Arraiján and Capira. The Colombian capital company Aseo Capital obtained the administrative concession for the provision of waste collection, transportation, and final disposal services in the district of Chame, Panamá Oeste province. Clause nine of the contract establishes that the company may bill or charge the cleaning fee jointly with the electricity distribution company, the National Aqueducts and Sewers Institute (Idaan), or the company providing potable water and sewerage services. According to the concession contract, the municipality may carry out coercive collections for delinquency in the payment of the cleaning fee, through an Executor Judge. The concessionaire company must pay the municipality 3.5% of the total value collected monthly for the comprehensive waste management fee. This agreement sets the cleaning fee at $5.00 for residential, large and medium commercial at $18.70 per cubic meter, as well as school centers, and small commercial from $10.00 to $20 per cubic meter.
