A fire was reported this Wednesday in a concrete and zinc shack in the Coibita sector, located in the Changuinola district, Bocas del Toro, consuming the entire structure. Units of the Meritorious Fire Corps of Changuinola responded to the emergency call. Two fire units had to force entry into the building as it was locked. Fortunately, firefighters were able to control the flames and prevent their spread. No injuries, burns, or smoke-related effects were reported as a result of this incident. The National Directorate of Fire Safety, Prevention, and Investigation (Dinasepi) will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
