In September 2023, Julio Anel Bayo was sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering Lilia Michelle Ramos, who was pregnant. They then left the scene. Five years after the crime, Bayo and Aneth were sentenced to 20 years and 19 years, respectively. However, Bayo only served 13 years in prison and was released on March 5, 2017. He had completed two-thirds of his 20-year sentence.
On May 13, 2015, two years before his release, Bayo sought his eligibility to practice law. His accomplice, Aneth Rocío Ortiz, was waiting in a restaurant. To destroy the evidence, Bayo burned his victim's body near the Terable River, in the Llano de Chepo, but did not realize that a trail of evidence remained inside the vehicle: blood, nails, and hair from Lilia. The next day, the body was found.
Julio Anel Bayo Solís, the possible abductor of the young university student Dayra Caicedo, had already served a sentence for homicide. In Chepo, the vehicle stopped at a location where Bayo took the opportunity to get rid of Lilia's body. He put the strap around her neck and tightened it forcefully, trying to strangle her. Aneth took the wheel. The lawyer was the father.
Bayo, who is currently 43 years old, studied law while serving his sentence. The autopsy determined that it was Lilia, who was 26 weeks pregnant. This information comes from the Judicial Authority. In the file, the forensic expert in charge classified Bayo as a cold person who, despite the evidence against him, never acknowledged perpetrating the crime nor expressed remorse.
Since February 19, she has been missing. In the hearing for this case, the judge of guarantees legalized 14 searches and approved the review of a phone call, considered key in the investigation. Additionally, prosecutors Humberto López and Yurisel Morán presented videos from the Arraiján Video Surveillance Center, where a white vehicle belonging to Bayo can be seen following the young woman before her abduction.
According to the file of the first case, Bayo had summoned Lilia on April 4, 2003, to a restaurant in Plaza Conquistador. He dragged her to some rocks, sprayed gasoline on her, and set her on fire. The victim at that time was Lilia Michelle Ramos Mariñón, who was pregnant. They then got into his vehicle, where he strangled her with his strap.
Now he returns to preventive prison for the kidnapping of Dayra, who studies law at the Universidad Santa María La Antigua. The report from the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences determined that the cause of death was strangulation by ligature. Furthermore, she had burns on various parts of her body - head, neck, trunk, and limbs - caused by a flammable substance, after having lost her life.
In one of the paragraphs of the summary, Aneth described that when she approached the vehicle, she could see Lilia struggling with Julio.
