The province of Herrera is prepared for the Carnival celebrations, with a wide deployment of security, health, and environmental control to ensure safe festivities for both residents and visitors.

Authorities reiterated the call to enjoy the carnivals responsibly, prioritizing safety, health, and peaceful coexistence so that the festivities take place in an atmosphere of joy and protection for all. Additionally, strict security will be implemented at all access points to the celebration area.

In the health sector, the regional director of Health of Herrera, Hilario Correa, informed that ambulances will be deployed in all districts, as well as health centers open in Monagrillo, Las Minas, and Pesé, and coverage posts in strategic areas.

In the environmental field, Karina Rivera, head of water resources of Panama's Ministry of the Environment, reported that water samples were analyzed in the quality laboratory, and the results determine that the resource meets acceptable parameters for recreational use, both for those participating in the traditional 'mojaderas' (water fights) and for visitors to beaches.

In turn, the National Civil Protection System reiterated recommendations to the population regarding visits to beaches and swimming pools, emphasizing the responsible consumption of alcohol, constant supervision of minors, and compliance with safety norms.

Both queens, already crowned, will star in their first appearance during this massive event. In the environmental area, inspections of the water sources to be used in the traditional 'mojaderas' have already begun.

More than 400 security units will be strategically distributed at all points where carnival activities take place in the province. This operation aims to maintain public order, prevent incidents, and provide an immediate response to any eventuality during the celebration days.

Similarly, the Gustavo Nelson Collado, Cecilio Castillero, and Sergio Núñez Núñez hospitals will remain open 24 hours a day, with reinforced medical and nursing staff to attend to any emergency that may arise during the festivities.

The Chitré municipality announced special measures for the participation of minors: all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and only children over 7 years of age will be allowed to participate.

At midnight, the 'mojaderas' begin, marking the start of a celebration that will extend until Tuesday. In Chitré, the carnivals officially kick off on Friday night with the traditional 'Pechugón', when the queens of Calle Arriba, Rubcel Quintero, and Calle Abajo, Silenys Solís, make their first appearance in Unión Park.

The water sampling points are located at two points on the Paso Viejo River, in Los Pozos, and on the La Villa River, in Chitré.
