José Antonio Moncada, who promoted this second hearing, indicated that it is a failure of the Criminal Procedure System to give the defense a very short period to meet with their client with the case file, previously known as a "carpetilla".

Attorney José Antonio Moncada stated that after the change of precautionary measure, he will present the case to the Panamanian Football Federation, pointing out that the investigative authorities must act with greater objectivity when assessing the facts.

Moncada maintained that the function of the Public Ministry, an institution he described as "necessary" for the administration of criminal justice, must be exercised with strict adherence to objectivity and a transparent analysis of the evidence, avoiding actions that could be interpreted as an excess within the framework of its powers.

The football player, who has part of his sports career in Colombia, has played for the Millonarios club and is currently part of the Club Los Pibes.

After remaining in preventive detention for one year and five months, the Panamanian football player Kerlo David Pardo Diaz regained his freedom after a hearing that changed the precautionary measure from prison to house arrest, which took place in the Accusatory Penal System in the province of Colón.

It was a second hearing, subsequent to the initial decision that ordered his preventive detention, adopted for a public defense that was given 15 minutes almost a year and a half ago, as the attorney stated.

Additionally, he works as a boat operator for a transportation company.

According to the defense, the process originated after the athlete made a transfer in which a Guatemalan citizen was transporting luggage that was delivered for inspection, a situation that was later considered within the investigation that led to the accusation against him.

Upon learning of the judicial decision, the football player's mother broke down in tears at the facilities of the Accusatory Penal System of Colón, thanking God for what she described as the end of a prolonged family anguish and recognizing the work of the legal defense.

In turn, the Public Ministry announced the filing of an appeal against the decision made during the hearing, where Moncada said that the only thing he asks is for the levels of hatred against the football player to be lowered.
