Minutes later, Bennett was observed injured, from the gunshot wounds he received. The National Police arrived at the scene and proceeded to cordon off the entire perimeter to preserve the crime scene while initiating the first investigations. The victim was taken to a hospital to receive medical attention, but shortly after his death was confirmed. In less than 12 hours, this is the third homicide recorded in the province. Previously, two people were killed: one in the city of Colón and another in the community of Los Laguitos, in the district of Cativá. The authorities have initiated investigations into this new bloodshed that marks another violent weekend in Colón, leaving three dead in a few hours.
