Panama Seizes Container with Drugs Bound for Germany

In Panama, a container destined for Germany, located at the Atlantic terminal in the province of Colón, was seized with drugs after 20 packages of illicit substances were found inside. The operation was carried out in a coordinated action by the Public Prosecutor's Office with the support of agents from the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN). The drugs were located in the container's refrigeration system, a discovery made possible by the intervention of a specialized canine unit for detecting narcotics. According to the preliminary report, each of the seized packages featured a black scorpion figure on top, which was lined with a brown material. With this seizure, the authorities have begun the investigation process to determine the circumstances in which the container was contaminated and to find those responsible for the shipment. The authorities emphasized that in maritime ports, security agencies maintain constant coordination with container terminals to strengthen surveillance efforts and prevent international drug trafficking.
