This past Saturday was marked by gunfire in the province of Colón, where at least three people were injured by firearms in incidents that occurred in different areas, requiring their urgent transfer to hospitals on the Atlantic Coast. The first case was recorded on Calle 12, Avenida Domingo Díaz, in the city of Colón, when a gunman shot a person in the feet who was in the area. The victim had to be taken immediately to the emergency room of the new hospital, where they received medical attention from the doctors. Hours later, a second violent incident was reported in the San Isidro community, corregimiento of Cativá, where a 14-year-old minor was hit by a firearm. The teenager suffered injuries to the right thigh and abdominal area, so he was urgently transferred to the Manuel Amador Guerrero hospital, where he remains under medical observation. The third incident occurred in the Arco Iris community, corregimiento of Cristóbal, where a man was injured during a shootout recorded in the sector. The exact circumstances of the attack are still under investigation. These incidents occurred amidst police operations deployed to find those responsible for the armed attacks, while the Colonense population continues to demand greater security and control in the face of the violence plaguing the neighborhoods.
