Major Drug Lab Discovered in Panama

A major blow to drug trafficking was dealt on the evening of Saturday, March 7th, when authorities uncovered a drug packaging operation in Colón, located inside a residence in the community of Puerto Real, in the Puerto Pilón district. The discovery was made during a surprise raid conducted by the Attorney General's Office with the support of the National Police. Inside the residence, 1,192 packages of drugs were found, along with three firearms and a truck with a double bottom, presumably used to transport the narcotics without raising suspicion. During the search of the property, officers also detected a false floor that concealed a storage area used to hold the illicit substance, leading to the belief that the location functioned as a storage and preparation center for the shipment. The National Police's Anti-Drugs Directorate also located six vacuum sealers used to package the drugs, along with an industrial scale used for weighing the product before its distribution. Three people, who were inside the house at the time of the operation, were detained at the scene.
