A woman was injured by a gunshot on the night of Saturday, March 7, and had to be taken to the emergency room of Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, in the city of Colón, where she was attended by the on-duty doctors. The victim arrived with a gunshot in her right thigh after a violent incident occurred in the area known as 'La Sabe', on 9th Street, Justo Arosemena Avenue, in the Atlantic city. According to initial reports, the woman arrived at the hospital, located in the Cristóbal Este district, on her own, seeking medical attention after being injured. Upon learning of the case, units of the National Police initiated a preliminary investigation to clarify what happened and try to locate those responsible. The woman would also be interviewed by the authorities to learn details of the attack. The area of Justo Arosemena Avenue is known to be a point where gangs operate, so it is not ruled out that the incident is related to situations of violence between groups in the area.
