In David, Drivers Are Taught How to Avoid Fines on Corridors

ENA Panama and the Transit and Land Transport Authority (ATTT) set up a stand at the International Fair in David to instruct drivers on the correct use of the Panapass system and city corridors. During the fair, users can approach to check balances, learn about payment points, resolve procedures, receive advice on their accounts, and even unlink vehicles associated with the system. The idea, according to the authorities, is for those traveling from the interior to the capital to avoid fines, surcharges, and setbacks when using toll highways. The Head of Collections for ENA Panama, Eric Zambrano, explained that although the corridors are in the capital, the Chiriqui fair brings together thousands of people from all provinces, making it the perfect stage to bring the service to users from the interior without them having to travel to Panama to resolve doubts. Additionally, many of the visitors are carriers and heavy equipment drivers who live in the interior but work constantly in the capital, so using Panapass is almost mandatory to avoid traffic jams and speed up their routes. Another key point they are explaining at the stand is the importance of unlinking the Panapass when a vehicle is sold, because if it is not done, tolls will continue to be charged to the previous owner. “We always recommend verifying the status of the Panapass associated with the vehicle before using it. If the car has a sticker installed, you must check that the account is unlinked from the previous owner or make a new registration,” warned Zambrano. For those who still do not have the system, it was also announced that the installation of the Panapass sticker will cost 10 dollars and will be carried out at the ATTT offices in Federal Mall, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. while the fair lasts. So if you plan to travel to the capital and use the corridors, it's better to stop by the ENA Panama and ATTT stand first, otherwise the toll could cost you more than expected. Thousands of visitors arriving from the interior of the country to the capital will no longer have excuses for receiving a costly fine on the corridors when traveling to the city.
