In Chiriquí province, Panama, the number of people killed in traffic accidents has risen to 60, while the national figure stands at 319 fatalities. The injuries suffered by 57-year-old Carlos Espinosa were too severe. Mr. Carlos Espinosa (57) died at around 4:15 AM yesterday at the 'Rafael Hernández' Regional Hospital in David, Chiriquí, after his motorcycle collided with a van earlier on Joseph Halphen Avenue, the access road to the San Carlitos area. The preliminary investigation details that Espinosa allegedly swerved into the oncoming lane and ended up colliding head-on with the gray vehicle driven by a 48-year-old woman. Injured, Espinosa and the vehicle's driver were assisted and taken to the David hospital, but nearly four hours after his admission, he died despite the doctors' efforts to save his life.
