The Ministry of Public Works of Panama has announced the resumption of the Vía España expansion project, which had been paralyzed in the courts. The project, costing $80.1 million, will begin in the coming days. The novelty of this expansion is that it will be designed so that public transport runs through the center of the road, with two exclusive lanes and a central median. As part of the project, 10 stops for metrobuses will be created, as well as pedestrian zones. The work will be carried out by the company Cusa (Constructora Urbana, S.A.) as part of the C&T Vía España consortium. Additionally, pedestrian bridges located at several points will be demolished, and the Afro-Antillean park and surrounding areas will be revitalized.
