The mayor explained that while the direct generation of jobs is not a traditional function of municipalities, there is a responsibility to promote efficient conditions through public innovation so that companies can hire in an agile manner.
The model implemented by the Municipality of Panama is based on digital job fairs that use software developed internally. By sharing this public innovation tool, Panama positions itself as a regional benchmark in the use of technology with a practical approach to generate tangible social impact on sensitive issues such as unemployment.
The mayor concluded by reiterating that the platform is now public and ready to be used by any city that wishes to combat the lack of formal employment efficiently.
“Traditional job fairs have low levels of effectiveness. This tool has made more than 25,000 job openings from the private sector available to citizens, without generating costs for applicants or recruiting companies. Technology allowed us to eliminate bureaucracy, organize information, and significantly increase hiring rates,” stated Mizrachi.
