It was announced that to obtain the card, interested parties must go to the Specialized Attention Centers (CAE) located in the Metro stations, from Monday to Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The guardian or tutor must present a copy of the receipt or proof of enrollment for the 2026 school year, the student's identification (youth ID or Electoral Tribunal certificate), and their personal identity document. The fares for students will be $0.10 on trunk routes, $0.75 on the North and South corridors, $0.17 on Metro Line 1, and $0.25 on Metro Line 2. The school card allows access to the fare benefit within the Integrated Urban Public Transportation System, which includes Metrobús and Metro lines. The available balance will be transferred to a new card. This measure, aimed at students entering the education system for the first time, responds to the institutional vision of 'promoting concrete actions that facilitate student mobility, support families, and strengthen the orderly use of public transport in Panama,' stated the general director, Simón Henríquez. The Transit and Land Transport Authority (ATTT) will distribute 5,000 free 2026 school cards, starting Wednesday, February 25, and will continue until supplies run out. In case of loss or damage, the student must go to a CAE with their ID to report it and proceed with card blocking. This benefit will be valid from March 2 to December 11, 2026, Monday to Friday, from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a limit of one outbound and one return trip per day. The replacement costs $4.00, which must be covered by the user.
