During the event, questions were answered about how the area would look. Following the presentation by the Urban Planning Directorate, residents raised their hands in approval. As detailed in the hearing, no lanes will be removed from the road. Additionally, it will be linked to the underground cable laying works that the Public Services Authority will carry out on the same stretch. Among the planned works are sidewalk widening, strategic tree planting, modern lighting, and improvements to parks and green areas. The Panama City Mayor's Office presented at a public hearing the project to overhaul Avenida Nicanor de Obarrio, better known as Calle 50, on the stretch from Vía Brasil to the End of Calle 50 (Frente Marino). The event brought together residents of Bella Vista and San Francisco, where the plans and scope of the work were explained. It was the green light from those who live and walk along that road every day, one of the most trafficked in the district. The so-called "Urban Improvement" project is part of the Comprehensive District Development Plan. The goal, as explained, is to recover public spaces such as sidewalks, easements, streets, parks, and green areas along this urban axis that moves offices, commerce, and residents. The intervention will cover 2.29 kilometers and is estimated to have an investment of B/. 8 million. The funds will come from the Real Estate Tax (IBI).
