Authorities toured the pavilions where five simultaneous fairs are being held: Expocomer, Panama Logistics Expo, International Tourism Expo, Panama International Electrical Expo, and Expo Tech, all organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP). During the event, a message from President Mulino was played, who is in Chile participating in the inauguration of that country's new leader. In his opinion, this economic circle must advance without obstacles that hinder development. Mulino took the opportunity to invite international entrepreneurs to see Panama as a platform for doing business, highlighting its maritime and logistics complex, considered one of the most efficient on the continent. Minister Orillac, for his part, indicated that holding several fairs at the same time demonstrates the intention to strengthen key sectors of the economy, promote investment, and open more opportunities for participating companies. The exhibitions organized by CCIAP are no small matter. This Tuesday, the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, on behalf of President José Raúl Mulino, inaugurated the 42nd version of Expocomer, an event that brings together entrepreneurs from different parts of the world under one roof. For three days, the Panama Convention Center will be the meeting point for 600 exhibiting companies, delegations from 30 countries, and 15 international trade missions, which have come to the country with the aim of doing business and opening markets. The inauguration was also attended by ministers and vice-ministers of state. According to the guild's data, these fairs generate more than 200 million dollars in commercial transactions, in addition to an economic impact close to 45 million dollars and a hotel occupancy that exceeds 10,000 rooms during the event. From there, the ruler highlighted that Panama maintains a solid banking system and an economy that grows by more than 4% annually, conditions that — he said — continue to attract foreign investment. The president also highlighted that investment is what drives the economy, because it generates opportunities and strengthens people's consumption. The country's largest trade fair has once again kicked the economy into gear.
