Gender Pay Gap in Panama Stands at 4.71%

According to the latest Labor Market Report from Konzerta, Panama's leading employment portal, the gender pay gap in February remained at 4.71% in favor of men. In the Semi-Senior and Senior categories, 52% are women and 48% are men; in the Supervisor/Manager segment, 56.51% are men and 43.49% are women. The average salary requested by Panamanians in February was $994, representing a 1.67% decrease from the previous month and a 7.85% drop compared to February 2025. The accumulated decline so far this year reaches 6.95%. In February, Supervisor/Manager positions recorded a requested salary of $1,307, a monthly decrease of 1.89%. The Semi-Senior and Senior segment was at $1,028, reflecting a monthly drop of 2.07%, while Junior positions reached $752, with a 0.17% increase. Finance, Compensation, and Payroll, along with Electromechanical Engineering, lead salary expectations. In the Supervisor/Manager segment, Finance positions had the highest salary demand at $2,350. The average salary requested by male applicants was $1,010, compared to $964 for female applicants. Talents aged 18 to 24 represent over 17% of all job applications. In the Junior segment, 50.06% of applications are from men, while 49.94% are from women. 'The Konzerta Labor Market Index data reflects the dynamism of the Panamanian labor market, where salary expectations are adjusting to the country's economic reality. In the context of youth unemployment reaching 19.9% in Panama, according to INEC, Junior positions are of particular importance,' stated Jeff Alejandro Morales, Marketing Manager at Konzerta Panama.
