During operations carried out in the 5 de Mayo area, authorities seized a total of 1,981 allegedly counterfeit items in actions aimed at combating crimes against intellectual property. The operations were conducted through raids on four commercial establishments, where units of the National Police, together with officials from the Public Ministry, managed to seize merchandise that allegedly infringes on trademarks. According to authorities, these operations are part of ongoing investigations related to the marketing of counterfeit products, a situation that affects both consumers and the holders of registered trademarks. The National Police indicated that this type of action seeks to curb the circulation of illegal merchandise in areas of high commercial traffic, where a large part of the informal economic activity is concentrated.
