ACOBIR alerts about fraud and promotes the use of authorized real estate brokers

In a dynamic real estate environment, security and transparency have become key factors for investment success. The Panamanian Association of Real Estate Brokers and Promoters (ACOBIR) highlights the importance of hiring competent real estate brokers to carry out any operation, with the aim of protecting assets and ensuring correct legal processes. The growth of the real estate sector in Panama has created opportunities, but also risks associated with informal practices that can lead to scams or legal conflicts. Amid the increase in digital offers, ACOBIR urges investors to verify the licenses of real estate brokers with the Ministry of Trade and Industries (MICI). The association also regularly offers preparatory courses to obtain a real estate broker license, facilitating that interested parties meet the legal requirements to operate in the Panamanian market. To ensure a secure transaction, ACOBIR suggests requesting the license number, verifying its validity on the official MICI website, and consulting the ACOBIR portal to confirm the professional's guild membership. Katherine Reyes Espino, president of ACOBIR, stated that a professional in the area not only acts as an intermediary but also advises and protects the client, ensuring that each stage complies with current regulations.
