Panama is strengthening its position as a regional hub for congresses and conventions. According to Gloria De Leon, Administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority, this success is based on excellent connectivity, world-class infrastructure, and diverse tourism offerings. Javier Araque, Senior Sales Manager of the Panama Convention Center (PCC), explains that Panama meets the industry's demands for security, accessibility, and hospitality. In 2025, the PCC hosted 149,433 visitors across 76 events, 58 national and 18 international, demonstrating global organizers' confidence in the country's logistical capabilities. This achievement solidifies Panama's status as a regional leader. The international publication Travel And Tour World ranked the PCC seventh in Latin America and among the top 100 globally for 2026. Araque highlighted that the PCC contributes to the national economy by offering world-class services. Early in 2026, the center hosted the International Economic Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean, which gathered over 7,000 people. The rest of the year's schedule includes high-profile events: the SBCC Summit (June 22-26), the International Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses (July 10-12), World of Coffee & World Barista Championship (October 23-25), and the ICCA World Congress (November 8-11). These international platforms enhance Panama's visibility and competitiveness in the global meetings industry.
