The Panama Metro reports that today, an operation to evict street vendors was carried out as part of the actions to control properties and recover public spaces and safe areas for the movement of our users.
These activities are being developed in the vicinity of the December 24 Station, including easement areas, farms, and accesses owned by the Metro.
This procedure is the result of over a year of coordination with local authorities and daily property control management, with the aim of recovering public spaces, guaranteeing user safety, and improving mobility conditions in the area.
These actions are carried out responsibly, seeking to balance the safety and mobility of our users with the application of current regulations, always with respect for all individuals involved.
We remind you that the sale of goods and services is prohibited in easement areas, farms, and accesses owned by the Metro, both permanently and ambulatorily, in accordance with Law 109 of November 25, 2013, detailed in Chapter VIII, Article 31, and Executive Decree 628 of October 20, 2020, established in Article 24, point 7, which regulates the behavior of passengers in the Panama Metro.
