The Panama City authorities have announced major road closures for the 'City of Stars' Christmas parade. Early Sunday morning, from 6:00 a.m., Uruguay Street will be closed from the Le Meridien hotel entrance on Balboa Avenue to Delta Station. Subsequently, there will be progressive closures from Banisi to New York Plaza, and at noon on Sunday, Calle 50 will be completely closed from the intersection with Porras Avenue until 2:00 a.m. on Monday for cleanup. Additionally, starting at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aquilino de La Guardia Street will be closed from the Bicsa Tower on Balboa Avenue to the traffic light at Calle 50 to allow for the setup of parade floats. Likewise, the Panama Metro announced it will operate on a special schedule until midnight on Sunday to help families attend the event without using their cars. Almost in parallel, the intersection of Porras Avenue with 50th Street will also be closed until 5:00 a.m. for the dismantling of the floats. The public is reminded that the parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Calle 50 and Calle Elvira Méndez in Bella Vista and will proceed along Calle 50 to Calle 75 Este in San Francisco. This event is expected to draw over 300,000 people from across the country to enjoy 30 Christmas floats, 92 delegations, 3 international bands, 10 cultural associations, 20 invited children's community groups, and 9,000 artists including characters, animators, and dancers. Meanwhile, the company MiBus announced it will reinforce all routes passing near the parade to allow attendees to travel comfortably.
