Panama is known for its warm audience and for welcoming foreign talent with open arms. For this reason, the country could not be left off the list of venues for actresses Natalia Ramírez (Marcela Valencia) and Lorna Cepeda («La Peliteñida»), who are presenting the comedy "Muertas de la Risa".
Ramírez and Cepeda have collaborated since 1997, sharing a chemistry and synergy since they met. They trust each other completely, so nothing can go wrong when they are on stage together, explained the interpreter of Marcela Valencia.
Cepeda commented that the play deals with infidelity, deceit, and how to face it. These themes will touch the most sensitive chords of the audience, however, the story also contains very funny moments that will have the audience dying of laughter.
The actresses have been to Panama several times and have always had a lot of fun with the audience, and this time they hope it will be no exception.
Two women meet at the morgue to identify a loved one, only to discover it is the same person.
The unforgettable stars of the novel "Yo soy Betty, la fea" assured Panamá América that the play is guaranteed fun, but it also addresses themes with which the public can identify, which has been the key to the success of "Muertas de la Risa".
Cepeda, for her part, mentioned that working with Ramírez has always been wonderful. They complement each other very well, have a nearly "telepathic" communication, and know exactly what they need from each other when on stage.
"(…) Double lives still exist, so in addition to people having fun, since it is a difficult topic to address, it can be touched upon through humor," said Ramírez, who said she has been cheated on because it is something painful and difficult to handle.
"I love working with Natalia," she reiterated.
"It is a wonderful complement between her and me."
They will perform on January 29 at 8:00 p.m. at the Hotel El Panamá.
The play begins with a drama.
