From March 3 to 24, Panama will host a varied cultural and academic program celebrating the diversity of the French language through cinema, gastronomy, and art. The closing of the Francofonie 2026 in Panama will be marked by musical activities and artistic workshops, highlighting the performance of accordionist Corentin Restif and singer Caroline Duchene, who will share their creative proposal with the local public. This annual event highlights the richness of the French language and Francophone cultures, starting its activities with a press conference on February 25 at 9:00 a.m. at the headquarters of the French Alliance, where details of the program will be provided along with representatives from the embassies of France, Canada, and other members of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF). In the academic field, a fair aimed at students and professionals will be held to explore opportunities in the Francophone space, with the collaboration of the delegations of Argentina, Belgium, Costa Rica, Morocco, France, and the European Union. The official agenda will feature a Francophone flavors market where ten countries will participate, offering a gastronomic meeting space open to the public. This celebration strengthens ties of cooperation and promotes shared values such as democracy and human rights. The programming includes diverse proposals, such as an exhibition exploring the relationship between technology, nature, and light, as well as cycles of contemporary cinema supported by the European Union and the embassies of Kosovo, Uruguay, and Switzerland. The diplomatic representations of Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Egypt, France, Haiti, Kosovo, Morocco, Mexico, Uruguay, Switzerland, and the European Union will actively participate, with the Delegation of Canada as the guest country this year.
