Exhibition on Protected Areas Launched in Panama

The Ministry of Environment (MiAMBIENTE), in collaboration with the Albatros Media Foundation, has launched the itinerant exhibition “Our Protected Areas” at Terminal 2 of Tocumen International Airport. The exhibition consists of 30 informational panels combining photographs and videos from various points across the country, aiming to sensitize the public to Panama's natural wealth and the importance of its preservation. The exhibition offers a visual tour of the biodiversity that makes up the National System of Protected Areas (SINAP). These environments are home to numerous species, many of which are emblematic and currently endangered. Through this selection, visitors can appreciate the strategic value of protected areas for ensuring water security, maintaining ecological connectivity, and fostering the development of sustainable tourism. It also highlights the essential link of these ecosystems to local communities that depend directly on them for their well-being and livelihood. The exhibition will be available to passengers and visitors of Terminal 2 of Tocumen International Airport until May 8, 2026. On May 9, the exhibition will be moved to the Altaplaza shopping center.
