Panama — Patients and staff at Santo Tomás Hospital were evacuated this morning from the 'White Elephant' building as a precaution after a report of a possible irritating gas in the hemodialysis area, the Fire Department confirmed. Units from the Hazardous Materials (MATPEL) section, the Prehospital Medical Care, Emergencies, and Rescue Service (SAMER), and operational personnel from Station 1 arrived at the medical center to coordinate the preventive evacuation.
