The director of the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan), Rutilio Villarreal, announced that this Saturday, January 31, the water supply will be suspended in the capital city from 6:00 a.m. until midnight. He detailed that these works are part of the Idaan's summer maintenance plan, which began in the province of Chiriquí, followed by Santiago and Chame, and now continues in Chilibre. Villarreal explained that the work will be carried out jointly with the National Council for Sustainable Development (Conades), which has already conducted a technical tour with the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac. This measure is in response to interconnection works of the East hydraulic ring that will be carried out at the Federico Guardia Conte water treatment plant in Chilibre. The director indicated that the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) will carry out work in the lake, some issues in the electrical part will also be addressed, and 24-inch valve changes will be made in the distribution network, specifically in the El Chorrillo and Pedregal sectors.
