The Panamanian Institute for Special Habilitation (IPHE) officially presented its institutional teacher training system as part of the 2026 Summer Trainings. In total, 1,191 special education teachers and 412 technical team professionals will benefit, providing care to an estimated enrollment of 18,139 students. To ensure participation and accessibility, the sessions will be held in a mixed format, combining in-person and virtual sessions. This initiative, which will take place from February 2 to 13, aims to strengthen the competencies of professionals who serve the population with disabilities, ensuring inclusive and equitable education throughout the country. The program is the result of a strategic alliance between IPHE, the National Institute for Professional Training and Human Development (INADEH), and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI). With these actions, the institution reaffirms its commitment to human rights and sustainable development in the educational field. The academic content is structured in nine key areas, including inclusive mathematics didactics, visual stimulation, neuroscience, technological innovation, and sign language. Additionally, an axis dedicated to the emotional well-being of the teacher has been included, recognizing their vital role in the teaching process. This deployment ensures that the pedagogical update responds to the local and territorial realities of each educational community. The implementation covers 21 IPHE sites and 458 educational centers, achieving coverage in 73 districts and 221 townships.
