Panama, March 17, 2026. - With the aim of strengthening the actions of the National Blood Bank Network, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) held a meeting on Tuesday to articulate and strengthen the transfusion system in Panama. During his speech, the Vice Minister of Health, Manuel Zambrano Chang, highlighted the joint commitment to one of the most sensitive pillars of the health system: the timely and safe availability of blood. "It is an irreplaceable resource, so we depend on the solidarity of people, as well as on the capacity of the health system to organize, plan and guarantee that each unit collected reaches the patient at the right time," he stated. He also indicated that this session represents an opportunity to strengthen the articulation of the national network, analyzing current challenges and building, in a joint and firm manner, sustainable solutions that ensure the blood supply in the country. In turn, the General Director of Public Health, Yelkys Gill, indicated that this space convenes a common purpose: to strengthen with responsibility and strategic vision one of the most essential and sensitive components of the health system. "Today we recognize the commitment, dedication, and articulation that distinguish this network, whose work represents a fundamental support for the country's health care."
