In Panama, in the Santa Ana area, on Calle 16, in a zone known as 'El Pentágon', a shootout occurred between rival gang groups (BB and El Pentágón). As a result of the incident, 26-year-old Daniel Josué Torres was executed with several bullet impacts to the head and back. According to reports, the incident took place at approximately 12:45 AM. When police units arrived to verify the report, they found the young man lying on the ground with several bullet wounds to the head and back. Apparently, Torres, who was wearing jeans, a blue sweater, and black sneakers, tried to escape but did not succeed, dying at the scene. It was learned that Torres had a background of being investigated in 2023 for a case of domestic violence and this year for gender-based violence. It is worth noting that just last November 23, Yahir Noriel De León Salgado (35), who was pointed out as the supposed leader of the gang operating in 'Renta 15', was assassinated, so it is being investigated if these two crimes are related.
