Panamanian authorities conducted a raid in the Barraza area, El Chorrillo district, where an illegal 'parking' style party was taking place. As a result of the operation, approximately 40 people were apprehended. According to Subcommissioner Joel Hurtado Llin, head of the 8th Police Zone, as police units entered the premises, they were met with gunfire. This forced an immediate response to ensure the safety of both the agents and the attendees. During the raid, a large-caliber firearm with its respective ammunition and a suspected illicit substance were seized. This finding reinforces the concern that these types of events, far from being simple gatherings, become hotbeds for violence, drug use, and settling scores. Police sources indicated that the apprehended individuals will be handed over to the relevant authorities for the corresponding procedures, while investigations are ongoing to determine individual responsibilities, especially regarding the seized weapon and the shots fired at the units. The police reiterated their call to the public to avoid participating in clandestine activities, warning that these events often end in fights, injuries, and mass arrests. They also assured that patrols and security devices will be maintained at various points in the city to preserve public order and contain violent hotspots. Because when the party is illegal, the outcome almost always ends with shots and arrests.
