Through search warrants, the National Police and the Public Prosecutor apprehended two individuals wanted for the alleged commission of a crime against public administration in the form of embezzlement. Among those apprehended is a former official who served as regional director of the Institute for the Training and Use of Human Resources (IFARHU) East Panama, and a merchant. These investigations stem from the alleged disappearance of checks and beneficiary cards from different scholarship programs, which were supposedly exchanged in commercial establishments. Both were transferred for the corresponding procedures at the request of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. The news was first published on La Verdad Panamá.
