Under the theme 'OECD: Global Trust — Local Progress? The Future of Panama in Debate,' the event will bring together public, private, and civil society actors to analyze challenges and propose solutions. The main event will be held from April 22 to 24 at the Sheraton Grand Panama, where authorities, business leaders, and national and international experts will participate. This will be followed by events on March 31 in Boquete and April 9 in Colón province, adding regional perspectives to the dialogue. The president of CADE 2026, Carlos Ernesto González Ramírez, stated that discussing OECD membership opens the door to reassessing the country's direction and generating concrete proposals for its development. As part of the agenda, the debate will extend nationwide. This year, APEDE aims to maintain its role at a critical moment for Panama's future. The series kicks off with the CADE Central and West Region event on March 27 at the Panama Racetrack in Sajalices. The president of APEDE, Giulia De Sanctis, highlighted that this platform seeks to translate international standards into tangible outcomes for the country. The prospect of joining the OECD has sparked a national debate on how to enhance institutional quality, transparency, and trust to attract investment and create jobs in a more demanding global environment.
